Ajman Municipality and Planning Department’s field work teams, cadres, and emergency team have been diligently working to ensure residents and visitors reach their desired destinations, and to maintain the flow of traffic amidst the challenging weather conditions and heavy rainfalls in the country.
Accompanied by a delegation from the Department, including Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, the Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector, H.E. Abdulrahman Mohammed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, the Director General of the Department, conducted an inspection of the progress at the pumping stations. H.E. expressed appreciation for the continuous efforts made by the teams since the onset of the adverse weather conditions, which are still ongoing.
The competent teams successfully managed emergency scenarios by devising inclusive and thorough strategies. These strategies encompassed monitoring weather conditions, receiving reports, conducting field visits, promptly reaching designated areas, and effectively resolving all complaints.
State-of-the-art Equipment
The Department utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and mobile sumps, leading to the efficient disposal of gatherings. The Department affirms that its ongoing readiness during the rainy seasons is focused on ensuring the upkeep of stations and equipment, as well as deploying workers to thoroughly clean all the primary underground pipes responsible for water transportation. This proactive approach significantly aids in expediting water drainage, restoring normal traffic flow, and preventing any potential accidents or mishaps.
Call for Communication
The Department called upon residents and visitors of the emirate to promptly inform them of any emergency incidents through the hotline 80070 and various communication channels. It has been emphasized that 15 work teams have been dedicated to diligently address these reports, directly engage with the public, and closely monitor and oversee the drainage of rainwater across the entire emirate.

In a relevant context, the Department has declared the shutdown of all parks within the emirate and the cancellation of events planned to commemorate the month of innovation. The Department has instructed all advisory offices operating in the Emirate of Ajman to adhere to the circular issued by it concerning emergency situations caused by adverse weather conditions, with the aim of safeguarding the safety of all people.
