Ajman X Center of the Municipality & Planning Department – Ajman organized, in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy & Tourism and Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA), the Intellectual Property Forum 2026, themed “Innovation Begins from the Family. The Role of Intellectual Property in Building a Sustainable Future”, in its 3rd cycle, concurrently with the Year of Family and celebrating the World Intellectual Property Day, aiming to emphasize the importance of intellectual property in the enhancement of innovation, the protection of rights, and the enhancement of the unique contributions of innovators, who use their creativity to create a positive change in the society, aligning with the trends of Ajman Vision 2030 for building national staffs that are able to achieve the Emirate’s aspirations, and in line with the strategic objective for the development of incubators and programs to support research and innovation.
The forum was attended by H.E. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, the Department’s Director-General, H.E. Major General Dr. Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidli, EIPA’s Board Chairman, Dr. Eng. Khaled Moeen Al Hosani, the Executive Director of the Department’s Public Health & Environment Sector, Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, the Executive Director of the Department’s Infrastructure Development Sector, and Sheikha Dr. Noura Humaid Al Nuaimi, Innovation Consultant and Ajman X Center’s Director, with a wide participation of employees and the entities interested in innovation and the protection of intellectual property rights.
Vital Area Experts & Pioneers
The forum hosted a selection of speakers of vast vital area expertise and leadership, namely, Marwa Hussein Al Harmoudi, the Head of the Industrial Industry Registration & Testing Department of the Ministry of Economy & Tourism, Iman Al Salman, the Head of the Intellectual Property Department of Sharjah Customs, Roya Hamad Al Jenaibi, the Deputy Head of the Business Awareness Department, Counsellor Mohammed Bakr, EIPA’s Member, and Dr. Hamada Abdul Aati, EIPA’s Member and Board Member of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). The dialogue session was moderated by Fatma Jumaa Al Hammadi.
Bolstering the Intellectual Property System
In this regard, Sheikha Dr. Noura Humaid Al Nuaimi emphasized that bolstering the system of intellectual property is an essential pillar in supporting innovation and the protection of creativity, noting the Department’s care for embracing creators and innovators and providing a motivating environment for the development of their ideas and transformation of the same into realistic projects and initiatives, stating: “The Department is implementing several pioneering initiatives and projects that enhance the culture of innovation, by cooperation and integration with the various relevant entities, contributing to instilling the Emirate’s position as a supportive environment of creativity and knowledge.”
From her side, Sheikha Dr. Noura Al Nuaimi noted: “The 3rd cycle of the Intellectual Property Forum takes place this year with more depth and wider dimensions, by gathering a selection of experts and specialists to discuss the latest developments in this vital area.”, while she emphasized: “The forum takes place concurrently with the “Year of Family”, which bolsters the role of the family as the nuclear that embraces creativity.”, and stressing for the importance of the integration of roles between various entities to support innovation and empower creators, and build a sustainable knowledge-based environment that embraces and develops ideas.
In the same context, H.E. Dr. Abdul Quddus Al Obaidli stated: “Our slogan this year combines intellectual property and sports, reflecting the association of the concept of creativity with various vital sectors, and emphasizing that the protection of intellectuality is not only limited to one domain, but even more, it expands to include sports, culture, economic and other domains. This trend takes place concurrently with the “Year of Family”, enhancing the integration of the national messages aiming to build an innovative society that is based on knowledge and that supports creativity in the various fields of life.”
Main Axes
The dialogue session included several main axes, most notable, explaining the role of the family as a launching point of innovation, and a motivating environment that supports the development of creative ideas, in addition to demonstrating how the family contributes to the protection of creativity and taking care of the same since its early stages.
Furthermore, the session came out with a number of findings and recommendations that emphasize the importance of bolstering family awareness of the family’s role in supporting innovation, and the integration of efforts between the family and the relevant organizations to build a sustainable environment that embraces creators and enables them to develop their ideas and transform the same into impacting projects.
