A delegation from the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department (MPDA), headed by H.E. Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department, concluded its tour of the People’s Republic of China with a visit to Tomorrow.City Shanghai, part of the global Smart City Expo World Congress network. Held in Shanghai, the event brought together leading officials, experts, decision-makers and representatives of global companies to explore the future of cities and showcase the latest solutions and technologies supporting sustainable urban development and digital transformation. The visit aligns with the Department’s drive to achieve government leadership through agility, innovation, efficiency and a results-oriented approach, as well as its strategic objective of developing advanced digital services.
During the visit, the delegation explored leading global solutions and practices in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, smart mobility, energy and the environment, and public services. The delegation also reviewed the latest innovations and technologies that contribute to advancing urban services, enhancing city efficiency and improving quality of life.
In this regard, H.E. Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi stated that the Department chose to conclude its tour by visiting this global event, which serves as a leading platform for showcasing advanced experiences in urban development and benefiting from international expertise to support the continuous development witnessed across the Emirate of Ajman.
He reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to strengthening cooperation, exchanging leading practices with international entities and institutions, and exploring the latest experiences and solutions that contribute to urban development and improved service efficiency. He also highlighted the importance of keeping pace with emerging technologies in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, sustainability and urban solutions, in support of the Department’s efforts to advance urban prosperity.
H.E. Al Nuaimi praised the exhibition and conference for providing participants with a platform to exchange perspectives and expertise on the future of cities and explore the latest urban solutions and technologies through panel discussions, specialised meetings and dedicated spaces showcasing innovations and technological solutions.
The Department’s delegation also included Dr. Eng. Khalid Moeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector; H.E. Yousif Mohammed Al Sheiba, Executive Director of the Rental Regulation Sector; and Mr. Ibrahim Samrah Al Shehhi, Director of the Communications and Community Department.
The delegation’s participation in the event marked the conclusion of a tour that included a series of visits and meetings aimed at exploring Chinese experiences and practices in technology, innovation, digital transformation, media and government services. The tour provided opportunities to benefit from these experiences and apply relevant practices across Ajman’s institutional and urban development initiatives.
