The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) held a coordination meeting with partners at the Al Hamidiya school complex to discuss ways to facilitate access to schools, maintain smooth traffic flow, and provide the highest standards of safety and security for students, parents, and educational staff.
The meeting aligns with the Ajman Vision 2030 goals of building an integrated and sustainable transportation system, and with the department’s strategic objectives to improve the quality and connectivity of the Emirate’s road network, thereby enhancing infrastructure efficiency and improving traffic safety and the quality of life for residents.
The meeting was organized by the MPDA and attended by Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector, and Eng. Abdullah Mustafa Al Marzouqi, Director of the Roads and Infrastructure Department. It saw the participation of representatives from the Ajman Police General Headquarters, the Ajman Private Education Coordination Office, and the Ajman Transport Authority, as well as representatives from private schools in the area. They reviewed the current traffic situation around the school complex, and presented and discussed proposals from all parties to ensure the achievement of the desired objectives.
Comprehensive Development Plan
In this vein, Dr. Eng. Mohammed bin Omair Al Muhairi emphasized that the road development in the Al Hamidiya school complex is part of a comprehensive development plan to improve traffic flow in the area. This plan aims to facilitate access and enhance traffic safety through the implementation of well-considered engineering and organizational solutions that meet the needs of the area and accommodate traffic volume during peak school hours.
The MPDA aims to enhance integration with strategic partners and work as a unified team to find practical and sustainable solutions that contribute to raising the efficiency of the road network and improving the user experience, especially in vital areas that experience high traffic density, he added.
Bin Omair pointed out that student safety is a top priority, and that any development interventions will be implemented according to best practices and approved engineering standards, in order to achieve the highest levels of safety and traffic flow, and enhance the sustainability of the transportation system in the Emirate.
For his part, Engineer Abdullah Mustafa Al Marzouqi, Director of the Roads and Infrastructure Department, explained that the technical teams studied the field challenges surrounding the school complex, including congestion points, pedestrian crossings, and school bus routes. He confirmed that a set of organizational and engineering solutions and proposals were presented in coordination with the relevant authorities.
It is worth mentioning that the MPDA adopts a comprehensive and integrated plan to achieve smooth traffic flow and provide a safe and sustainable environment for students and all road users.
