The Municipality & Planning Department – Ajman applauded the integrated efforts and the shared responsibility for the preservation of the aesthetic and civilizational appearance of the Emirate, in line with the trends of Ajman Vision 2030, aiming to create a civilized environment that enhances the attractiveness of the Emirate and the quality of life in the Emirate, by launching an initiative for the preservation of the general appearance of the Emirate, in cooperation with building owners in Ajman.
The Department confirmed the commitment of buildings and towers in the Emirate to the preservation of the aesthetic appearance and visual identity, noting that sustainable urban development goes hand in hand with the care to demonstrate the unique aesthetic fingerprint of the Emirate, reflecting its authenticity and urban development.
Beauty & Identity
In this regard, H.E. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, the Department’s Director-General, stated: “The preservation of the general urban appearance is a priority of municipal work, as we strive to enhance the visual identity of the Emirate. Furthermore, teams are periodically following-up buildings’ commitment to accredited aesthetic and architectural standards, to ensure their synergy with the visual identity of Ajman and to enhance its civilizational appearance. The majority of buildings in the Emirate are subject to periodic maintenance processes, and adopt beautiful architectural façades that reflect the best modern designs that combine authenticity, contemporariness and green building that focuses on the use of the best materials in the implementation of façades and buildings to become environmentally-friendly and designed according to the highest global standards, and that can be easily maintained and kept clean throughout their life expectancy, contributing to sustaining the aesthetic and urban development of the Emirate.”
Joint Cooperation
From his side, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Wahab Al Khaja, the Director of the Department’s Municipal Inspection & Control Department, stated: “Field work teams are intensifying their daily tasks to ensure the preservation of the aesthetics of façades and public facilities. Attention to civilizational appearance has become an enrooted behavior of the society and owners in the Emirate, reflecting a shared awareness and collective responsibility to bolster the attractiveness of Ajman.”
Al Khaja stated: “The Department has recently implemented an integrated field visit plan among all competent departments, whereas the first stage began as to include Ajman Corniche, Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi St., Sheikh Khalifa St., and Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid St. from Al Rowdha till its end, while the second stage included Etihad St., Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid St., and Al Mina St. The third stage includes Sheikh Humaid bin Abdul Aziz St. and the areas of Al Rumaila, Al Nuaimiya and Al Rashidiya,
whereas the fourth stage includes the areas of Al Jurf, Al Humaidiya, Al Raqayib and Al Jurf Industrial. The fifth stage includes the areas of the New Industrial Zone, Al Rowdha, Al Muwaihat and Al Talla, while the final stage covers the remaining areas of the Emirate.”
Replacement of Old Homes at City Center
In a related context for the preservation of the attractiveness of the Emirate and the quality of life in the Emirate, the Department implemented a campaign for the demolition and replacement of old homes in the city center sector, aligning with the recommendations of Ajman Urban Master Plan 2040.
In this regard, Eng. Sheikh Ahmed bin Sultan Al Nuaimi, the Department’s Deputy Director of the Buildings Department, confirmed: The Department has implemented the replacement of old buildings after the listing the deteriorating buildings in the course of their replacement with new buildings.”
It is notable that the Department is continuing its hard work for the implantation of vital projects whose effect can be felt by the society, constituting a completion of the aesthetic and civilizational fabric of the Emirate, which has become an ideal model for a city of beauty and an integrated and inclusive civilization.
