Ajman Municipality Intensifies Inspection Campaigns Ahead of Blessed Eid Al-Adha with 1499 Inspections conducted in a Week

The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman announced the continuation of an intensive inspection campaign in preparation for the blessed Eid Al-Adha. The campaign targeted 1,499 inspection visits to food and health establishments over the past week. This aligns with the emirate of Ajman’s vision to create a civilized environment that promotes the emirate’s attractiveness and wellbeing, and is consistent with the Department’s strategic objectives. The campaign covers markets, food, and health establishments, in addition to enhancing veterinary control at the livestock market to ensure the protection of public health and the safety of community members.

Livestock and Sheep Shipments

In this context, the Department continues its routine monitoring of livestock and sheep shipments arriving at the livestock market through direct veterinary supervision by veterinarians. The aim is to verify the health status of the animals, ensure they are free from zoonotic diseases, and guarantee their fitness for human consumption and use as sacrificial animals in accordance with approved health and veterinary requirements.

Monitoring and veterinary teams are also continuing to conduct inspection rounds and ongoing follow-ups inside the market to ensure compliance with health and regulatory requirements regarding the trading and display of livestock. This contributes to enhancing the safety of sacrificial animals during the blessed Eid Al-Adha.

Monitoring of Food Establishments

As part of its ongoing commitment to food safety, the Department has developed a comprehensive plan to conduct intensive inspection campaigns targeting food and health establishments that see increased footfall during this occasion. Inspection teams are working around the clock to ensure that establishments meet approved health requirements and to reinforce public health protection.

The monitoring campaigns focus on food preparation and serving establishments, including restaurants and popular kitchens. The goal is to ensure compliance with the health requirements necessary for preparing and handling food, and to follow the best health practices approved under the Ajman Public Health Program.

The campaigns also cover retail outlets, consumer cooperatives, and food sale and handling establishments. The aim is to ensure the safety of food product displays, their shelf life, and quality, in addition to the immediate handling of reports and complaints received from customers around the clock.

Health and Safety First

On the health front, inspection teams continue to execute monitoring plans for salons and men’s and women’s personal care centers, in order to verify compliance with approved health requirements and preventive measures, while intensifying awareness regarding the importance of using sterilized tools and applying proper health practices, especially given the increased demand in the period leading up to Eid.

Joint Coordination

The Department affirmed the continuation of coordination between the Food Trade Office and the Department of Ports and Customs to inspect food shipments and containers and complete their release procedures in accordance with approved regulations. This ensures the safety of traded food and protects consumer health. The Department also continues to provide inspection and examination services for food shipments arriving via Ajman Port, as well as shipments transferred from various emirates through the  “Zad” federal system, supporting the food security system and enhancing the quality and safety of food traded in the markets.
