The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) has announced the issuance of 778 completion certificates during the first quarter of 2026, compared to 613 certificates during the same period in the year of 2025, a rough increase of 26.9%, embodying the continued accelerated growth in the Emirate’s construction sector, in line with the strategic objective of comprehensive urban management and the goals of Ajman Vision 2030.
In this vein, Dr. Mohammad Ahmad bin Omair Al Muhairi, the MPDA’s Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector, asserted that the increase in the number of completion certificates mirrors the dynamism of the urban sector in the Emirate of Ajman and translates the vision geared towards promoting sustainable development and providing an integrated urban environment that supports quality of life. The Emirate goes on with cementing its position as an attractive destination for investment and residence, thanks to its advanced infrastructure and growth supporting legislation.
All issued completion certificates were awarded after ensuring full compliance with all building compliance requirements and meeting approved safety standards and technical requirements. This was achieved through coordination and integration with strategic partners, guaranteeing the highest levels of quality and sustainability in implemented projects, Bin Omair emphasized.
Sustainable Development
For his part, Engineer Ahmad Sultan Al Nuaimi, Director of the Buildings Department, noted that the MPDA is keen on developing its work system and simplifying procedures to ensure the provision of highly efficient services. The MPDA offers multiple channels for submitting applications, which contributes to expediting transactions and achieving customer satisfaction, he said.
The completion certificate is awarded after the completion of all construction work according to approved plans and in compliance with technical and engineering specifications, in addition to fulfilling all applicable requirements, Al Nuaimi added, stressing the importance of the role played by contracting companies and consulting firms in adhering to approved standards, which enhances the quality of projects implemented in the Emirate.
It is worth mentioning that the eastern sector of the Emirate accounted for the largest share of completion certificates, while the central sector and city center eyed the implementation of several high-quality projects that reflect the urban diversity and balanced development across the various areas of the Emirate of Ajman.
