The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman has concluded its multi-day Future Innovation Labs series, which targeted the Department’s four sectors: the Infrastructure Development Sector, the Public Health and Environment Sector, the Support Services Sector, and the Strategy and Customer Happiness Sector. The series aimed to foresee the future of services and institutional operations in light of global trends and to enhance the Department’s readiness to keep pace with future variables in the fields of sustainable infrastructure, public health, digital transformation, and smart government services.
30 Recommendations for Development
The labs witnessed the participation of more than 40 leaders, department managers, and experts from various specializations, in the presence of the sectors’ Executive Directors. During the sessions, the most prominent future challenges and opportunities for improvement in the institutional work environment were discussed, resulting in a total of 33 future challenges and 30 realistic and actionable recommendations for development.
In Alignment with Ajman Vision 2030
The discussions also addressed the design of future structures to achieve operational efficiency and flexibility, the development of future institutional processes according to the latest innovations and modern technologies, in addition to aligning the labs’ outputs with the Department’s strategic objectives and Ajman Vision 2030, and strengthening integration and partnerships between departments and local and federal entities to achieve a shared developmental impact.
Developmental Projects
In this regard, Eng. Noura Rashed Shattaf, Executive Director of the Strategy and Customer Happiness Sector, affirmed that the Future Innovation Labs represent a strategic platform for promoting a culture of institutional innovation and future-foresight. She noted that the labs’ outputs will contribute to transforming innovative ideas into tangible developmental projects and initiatives.
Eng. Shattaf continued, “Innovation is the path towards sustainability and excellence. Through these labs, we work to anticipate challenges and create future opportunities, thereby enhancing the Department’s position as a leading entity in municipal planning and smart government services.”
A More Advanced and Sustainable Future
Eng. Shattaf added that the outputs of the labs will be integrated into the Department’s upcoming strategic plans to ensure the transformation of ideas into executive programs that contribute to achieving Ajman Vision 2030 and the UAE Centennial 2071. She pointed out that the results of the sessions reflect a spirit of teamwork and integration between sectors towards a more advanced and sustainable future.
It is noteworthy that the Department adopts the implementation of innovation and development initiatives in accordance with a comprehensive institutional system, to raise performance efficiency and achieve customer happiness through more effective, flexible, and innovative services.
