The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman and Umm Al Quwain Municipality have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance mutual cooperation and integration in areas related to municipal work, the exchange of technical and administrative expertise and knowledge, contributing to the development of services, improving institutional performance efficiency, and achieving shared developmental goals.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the Municipality and Planning Department by H.E. Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department, and on behalf of Umm Al Quwain Municipality by H.E. Eng. Ahmed Ibrahim Al Ali, Director General of the Department, in the presence of a number of officials from both sides.
Promoting Sustainable Work
In this regard, H.E. Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi affirmed that the signing of the MoU comes as part of ongoing efforts to unify efforts aimed at adopting best practices and developing institutional performance. He explained that the MoU formalizes joint coordination and frames the exchange of knowledge and expertise in common areas to enhance the efficiency of delivering pioneering services that contribute to sustainable development and meet community aspirations.
Strengthening Institutional Cooperation
For his part, H.E. Eng. Ahmed Ibrahim Al Ali stated that the MoU represents an important step toward strengthening institutional cooperation and sharing successful experiences in various areas of municipal work. He emphasized Umm Al Quwain Municipality’s commitment to enhancing integration with government entities in the UAE to achieve common national objectives and build a leading model of cooperation focused on developing human capabilities and improving the efficiency of public services in line with the requirements of the next phase.
Objectives of the MoU
The MoU aims to strengthen partnerships in public health, food safety, veterinary control, and public health pest control. It also seeks to exchange expertise and best practices in strategic planning, institutional excellence, and knowledge management, supporting the development of the municipal work system.
The MoU enables the exchange of data and statistics and the establishment of joint training programs to enhance the capabilities of technical staff, thereby contributing to government integration and raising the wellbeing in the community.
Both sides concluded by affirming that this MoU marks a new beginning for fruitful cooperation that will benefit both sides and support the path of sustainable development taking place across various sectors in the UAE.
