The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), in cooperation with Roayati Exhibition Organizing, organized a dialogue session titled “An Integrated Vision for Sustainable Development” as part of the Ramadan in the Neighborhoods events and under the rubric of the Community Majlis Initiative. This initiative aims to enhance direct communication with community members and discuss issues that contribute to building a society that supports the sustainable development journey in the emirate, in line with the objectives of Ajman Vision 2030, which focuses on building an inclusive, cohesive, and empowered society, and in conjunction with the “Year of the Family” while reinforcing cohesion and social bonds among community members.
This session is part of the MPDA’s efforts to establish a culture of community dialogue and the exchange of experiences and ideas between community members and specialists. This fosters awareness of the importance of entrepreneurship and its role in supporting the national economy and empowering individuals to transform their ideas into successful projects that contribute to diversifying income sources and promoting innovation.
Inspiring Entrepreneurial Experiences
The session saw the participation of entrepreneur Dr. Noura Al Zaabi and entrepreneur Hilal Al Jabri, while the panel discussion was moderated by Media Figure Safia Al Shehhi. The speakers shared their experiences in entrepreneurship and the challenges they faced in their early days, as well as highlighting the key opportunities the market offers to young entrepreneurs.
Participants discussed the importance of entrepreneurship as a major driver of economic growth, emphasizing that encouraging youth innovation and launching their own businesses contributes to creating new job opportunities and fostering a spirit of initiative within the community. They also highlighted the role of government entities in providing a supportive environment for entrepreneurs through initiatives and funding and training programs that help them develop their projects and achieve sustainability.
Role of the Family in Establishing an Investment Culture
The session addressed the pivotal role of the family in instilling the culture of work and investment in children. Speakers asserted that the family is the primary environment in which a child’s personality and aspirations are shaped, and that instilling the concepts of saving and financial planning from a young age contributes to preparing a generation capable of making informed economic decisions in the future.
The attendees also discussed the importance of empowering children to gain experience in small projects, which fosters their leadership, self-reliance, and creative thinking skills, and gives them the confidence to transform their ideas into practical initiatives that can be developed over time.
The session wrapped up by asserting that the integration of roles between families, government institutions, and the community forms a fundamental pillar in building a comprehensive entrepreneurial ecosystem capable of supporting young talent and enabling them to contribute to achieving sustainable development and enhancing the Emirate of Ajman’s position as a society that fosters innovation and community initiatives.
