In Support of Environmental Sustainability: Ajman Municipality Announces Plantation of 5465 New Trees in Ajman in 2025

The Municipality & Planning Department – Ajman announced that it planted 5465 trees in 2025, embodying sustainable work for the expansion of forestation projects and greenery, aligning with the trends of Ajman Vision 2030 for the creation of an urban environment that enhances the Emirate’s attractiveness and quality of life, and aligning with the strategic objective of increasing an individual’s share of public spaces.

 

An Integrated & Inclusive Plantation Plan

In this regard, Dr. Eng. Khalid Moeen Al-Hosani, the Department’s Executive Director of the Public Health & Environment Sector, confirmed: “The large increase in the number of planted trees in 2025 confirms the Department’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life and environmental protection, by the expansion of greenery and the reduction of adverse environmental impacts, aligning with the approved environmental plans and the future vision of the Emirate.”

 

Dr. Eng. Al-Hosani stated: “Agricultural works varied throughout a number of vital projects in 2025, as they included the project for the irrigation and plantation of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Street, projects for the irrigation and plantation of the streets of Al-Ragayeb, besides the construction of residential parks and social spaces, the walkway of Al-Bahia City, in addition to the implementation of Stage 2 of residential parks, such as Al-Muntazi Neighborhood Park, Al-Barraqa Park, Al-Meqayadh Park, and the planation of Al-Nuaimiya Street, as well as the plantation of trees at Al-Jurf Park, Al-Manama Park, Ajman Chamber Park, and Corniche Street.”

 

The Enhancement of Botanic Diversity & Environmental Equilibrium

From his side, Mr. Ahmed Saif Al-Muhairi, the Department’s Director of the Agricultural & Public Parks Department, stated: “The Department is aiming to enhance botanic diversity and environmental equilibrium, as agricultural works included local trees, such as prosopis cineraria (Ghaf) and ziziphus spina-christi (Sidr), and local fruitful trees, besides decorative trees. The agricultural projects were implemented according to the highest technical and environmental global standards in order to achieve environmental sustainability, provide shades, soothe the atmosphere, and create a healthy and attractive environment for the population, and to also support the biodiversity of public roads and parks.”

 

Al-Muhairi talked about the initiative for numbering local trees, which is being completed in the current year, 2025, registering an increase of 400%, in a step that contributes to the documentation, preservation and management of trees very efficiently.

 

It is notable that the Department is going on in the implementation of a set of agricultural projects within the Department’s integrated plan for the expansion of greenery and aligning with the vision aiming to plant 5% of the total area of Ajman Emirate.
