The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) has announced that the total length of paved roads in the Emirate of Ajman reached 1,308,114 linear meters by late 2025, an achievement that reflects the continuous progress in infrastructure development, in line with the Ajman Vision 2030’s goals of building an integrated and sustainable transportation system, and in accordance with the strategic objectives of improving the quality of connectivity of the Emirate’s road network, as recommended by the Urban Plan 2040 project.
Enhancing Road Network Connectivity
His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the MPDA, asserted that the projects carried out during over 2025 contributed to enhancing the connectivity of the road network, raising its operational efficiency, and improving life quality in the Emirate. This was done through the development of main roads, the expansion of traffic lanes, and the improvement of intersections, thus supporting the rapid urban and economic growth that Ajman is eyeing.
His Excellency spoke highly of the ambitious plans adopted by the MPDA to carry out comprehensive and integrated projects covering all areas of the Emirate. The infrastructure development projects were carried out under best practices and international standards, ensuring the highest levels of traffic safety and smooth flow, while also supporting sustainable mobility through the development of pedestrian and cycling facilities and connecting residential neighborhoods to vital thoroughfares, His Excellency asserted.
(92,000) meters: Total length of new roads completed last year
For his part, Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the MPDA’s Infrastructure Development Sector, noted that the total length of new roads completed in 2025 reached 92,000 meters. The Emirate witnessed the construction of roads in various areas, including Al Hamidiya, Al Amrah, Al Rawdah, Al Muwaihat, Al Haliyo, Masfout and Al Manama.
The MPDA has worked on developing the main roads in the industrial area, completing the second phase of As-Salam Street, the first phase of Al Hijin Street, and the Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street project, in addition to the Sheikh Zayed Street project, Bin Omair said, noting that the total length of paved roads in Ajman city reached 1,145,191 meters, while in Masfout city it reached 120,279 meters. The length of new roads added last year in Al Manama city was recorded at 42,644 meters.
For his part, Engineer Abdullah Mustafa Al Marzouqi, Director of the MPDA’s Roads and Infrastructure Department, said that the MPDA carried out high-quality projects, including the construction of new roads, the development of existing roads, the improvement of traffic intersections, the increase in the number of lanes, the construction of service roads, parking areas, sidewalks, and stormwater drainage networks, and the upgrading of street lighting according to international engineering standards, thus contributing to reducing travel time and improving traffic flow on a number of vital roads in the Emirate.
It is worth mentioning that the MPDA is continuing to carry out a range of road and infrastructure projects this year. These projects include the development of roads in the city center, the second phase of Al Hijin Street, and the construction of new roads in the Al Yasmin, Al Rawdah, Al Muwaihat, Mohammed Bin Zayed, Al Rashidiya 3, Masfout, and Al Manama areas, in addition to street lighting projects and the construction of stormwater drainage stations. These efforts are part of a comprehensive vision geared towards enhancing the efficiency of the road network, supporting sustainable mobility, and creating a safe and integrated urban environment that meets current needs and future aspirations in the Emirate of Ajman.
