The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman has reported remarkable progress in the Emirate’s construction sector for 2025. The total value of construction contracts surpassed AED 17.411 billion, with 5,719 building permits issued. This marks a significant rise of over AED 7.756 billion, or 80%, compared to 2024. This accomplishment highlights the rapid development of the construction sector, strengthens the Emirate’s appeal as a promising investment hub, and aligns with the goals of Ajman Vision 2030 to foster an urban environment that enhances both attractiveness and well-being in the Emirate.
Sustainable Urban Development
His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department, emphasized that the results achieved in 2025 mark a key milestone in the progression of urban development within the Emirate of Ajman. He highlighted that the notable rise in the value of construction contracts signals strong investor and developer confidence in the Emirate’s adaptable regulatory and legislative framework.
His Excellency further stated that this development is in line with ongoing sustainable efforts aimed at improving well-being, fostering an integrated urban environment, driving economic growth, and fulfilling the aspirations of both residents and investors.
A Positive Leap
Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, the MPDA’s Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector, highlighted a significant milestone with the value of contracts reaching AED 9.655 billion, marking notable growth compared to 2024. He also noted that 4,898 permits were issued during the same period, demonstrating accelerated activity and increasing momentum in urban, residential, and commercial development projects. He reaffirmed the Department’s commitment to delivering highly efficient services that streamline procedures while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Dr. Eng. Bin Omair further emphasized that the Buildings Department is advancing the building permit system through complete digital transformation, utilizing modern technologies and artificial intelligence, thus ensuring transactions are processed with accuracy and speed, and enhancing the Emirate’s standing in both local and global performance indicators.
It is worth noting that the Department continues to collaborate with key strategic partners to achieve integration between urban planning and sustainable development requirements, supporting the Emirate’s comprehensive development journey across all sectors.
