The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) has announced the opening of registration for the 17th edition of the Ajman Agriculture Award 2026, starting from October 1, 2025. The initiative comes as part of the MPDA’s ongoing efforts to promote agricultural sustainability and expand green spaces across the Emirate of Ajman.
Mr. Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, the MPDA’s Director of the Agriculture and Public Parks Department, and Chairman of the Award Committee, stated that opening registration is an open call for all members of the community to play a role in enriching the Emirate’s agricultural landscape and to showcase outstanding examples of urban farming and environmental initiatives. He highlighted that the Award is one of the MPDA’s landmark initiatives, designed to embed the principles of sustainable agriculture and to inspire both individuals and institutions to expand green areas and adopt innovative farming practices. This aligns with Ajman Vision 2030, which seeks to create a modern environment that enhance the attractiveness and livability of the Emirate.
New Category – The Little Farmer
“The Award has become an annual milestone eagerly anticipated by those passionate about agriculture and sustainability” Al Muhairi noted. He explained the Award’s categories, noting the introduction of a new category to encourage little farmers, alongside existing categories such as indoor house garden, outdoor house garden, productive house garden, government institution garden, school garden, mosque garden, balcony garden, and hotel garden, in addition to a category recognizing outstanding agricultural initiatives.
AED 100,000
Al Muhairi highlighted the total value of the Award, which amounts to AED 100,000 to be distributed among winners across the various categories, based on evaluation criteria approved by the organizing committee. It is worth noting that the Award’s terms and criteria include providing proof of ownership of the participating site, supporting photographs, and accurate site details. Participants must also present at least six agricultural varieties capable of self-production, attend the evaluation in person or by a representative, and must not have won the Award within the past three years.
