Ajman Municipality Inaugurates “Union Pledge Street” To Immortalize a Precious National Remembrance

The Municipality & Planning Department – Ajman named the main entrance street to Al-Raqaib 2 as “Union Pledge” Street, in concurrency with the celebration of the Union Pledge Day, decreed by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, May Allah Protect Him, to take place on the 18th of July of every year, in a step that instills national values and enhances the symbolism of such day in the memory of the present and upcoming generations.

The inauguration of the street takes place as a novel initiative to immortalize an immortal national remembrance, and as an embodiment of the Department’s commitment to the instillation of the national identity within the city landmarks.

An Integrated National Urban Fabric

The location of the street was selected to be within a pivotal area that contains housing enterprises, Al-Bait Al-Mutwahid, Applied Technology Schools (ATS), and 1971 Street, to form an integrated environment that carries names that are associated with history, authenticity, and national identity, enhancing the symbolism of the street to constitute a part of an integrated urban and national fabric.

The name “Union Pledge Street” embodies the meanings of loyalty and belongingness, and delivers a message of that the pledge of the founding fathers will remain engraved in the memory of the homeland, extending through every corner of the homeland.

The Department is implementing addressing projects that aim to demonstrate historic legacy, and it confirms its ongoing implementation of the national initiatives and projects that reflect the spirit of the union, and enhances the presence of history and identity in the modern city landmarks.
