Receiving 100 honey samples to ensure they meet quality and safety standards, MPDA wraps ups its participation in Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival

 The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) wrapped up its participation in the 8th edition of the Liwa Ajman Dates and Honey Festival which also eyed the participation of 350 palm owners, farmers, beekeepers, productive families and a number of official entities as exhibitors, informing the visitors of its pavilion on current and future agricultural projects. It also received 100 honey samples over four days.

 

In this connection, Eng. Khalid Moeen Al-Hosani, MPDA’s Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, emphasized MPDA’s keenness to participate in the festival which enhances the value of the authentic heritage and ancient history, sheds light on the most important crafts, promotes positive culture and motivates younger generations to follow the path of their ancestors. He noted that MPDA has left a distinctive imprint on it in the current edition of the festival, where the Central Laboratories Department was present, providing a free service to examine honey samples that it received from contestants from inside and outside the festival, exhibitors and participants.

 

The qualified competencies of MPDA were keen to ensure the quality of honey and its suitability for human consumption within the framework of its concern for the health and safety of everyone in line with its strategic objectives and relentless pursuit to achieve the best, Al-Hosani noted, adding that the cadres used the latest technologies and devices to examine samples of Sidr, Acacia and crystallized honey in addition to beeswax, and to test the percentage of moisture, sugars, and others.

 

Al-Hosani hailed the participation in the festival, explaining that all participating bodies sought to provide best practices in the health and agricultural fields, enrich culture and exchange experiences in a manner that supports sustainable practices for a more prosperous future.
