In first half of 2023, 97.58% of bottled drinking water samples complying with food safety regulations

The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) announced achievement of 97.58% of bottled drinking water samples complying with food safety laws during the first half of 2023, as part of the MPDA’s keenness to ensure health and safety of all.

 

In this connection, Eng. Khalid Moeen Al-Hosani, MPDA’s Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, asserted that MPDA seeks to raise the level of compliance of bottled drinking water factories in Ajman with health laws and regulations, and to ensure the implementation of approved food safety systems, as well as obliging companies to adhere to the Emirates Quality Mark (EQM) for all bottled water brands in Ajman.

 

Al-Hosani stated that the MPDA’s qualified personnel conduct periodic surveys on bottled water at factories, bottled water companies and markets to ensure their compliance with the approved specifications and regulations by using the latest laboratory testing devices in accordance with international best practices.

 

MPDA has witnessed remarkable improvement in the safety of bottled drinking water index during the first half of 2023, compared to the same period in the past two years, as 2021 recorded 95.41%, while 2022 recorded 96.2%, stressing the constant endeavor to raise the percentage and ensure access to the best Results.
