The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman announced that more than 1600 visitors attended Nawafeth 9 Exhibition over its duration, held under the slogan “Nawafeth: from People to the People.” The exhibition showcased a range of smart services and innovative initiatives and activities that reflect the Department’s keenness to engage the community and enhance direct communication with all segments of society.
In this context, Engineer Noura Rashid Shattaf, Executive Director of the Strategy and Customer Happiness Sector at the Department, emphasized that the exhibition, through its past editions, has embodied the Department’s commitment to strengthening direct engagement with the community. “Coinciding with the Year of Community, the ninth edition of the exhibition was held with the aim of creating innovative platforms that enable the public to actively participate in service development and reinforce the values of cooperation and participation among all groups, while also being present in key locations to ensure direct interaction with the public,” she added.
Eng. Shattaf said that the Department’s qualified staff were present at the exhibition, effectively engaging with all segments and demographics, introducing the services in multiple languages, listening to customer needs, and receiving suggestions to be transformed into tangible development projects.
Smart Services
For his part, Mr. Ibrahim Samrah Al Shehhi, Director of the Communication and Community Department at the Department, affirmed that the exhibition featured an extensive showcase of smart services, where the public was given detailed explanations about the “Ajman One” app, the “Tasdeeq” services, and other digital solutions that simplify customers’ lives. He added that, as part of efforts to strengthen communication channels, a dedicated platform was set up to receive suggestions and complaints, allowing the public to directly share their feedback and inquiries. In addition, a community survey was made available to identify the most prominent community needs and expectations regarding the services provided by the Department.
AI Platform
Al Shehhi discussed the exhibition events, which featured an Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform aimed at providing an interactive experience for children. This platform converted their photographs into cartoon illustrations associated with municipal professions, as part of an initiative to introduce younger generations to the Department’s roles in innovative and engaging manners. He conveyed his pleasure at the impressive attendance of children, which demonstrated their interest and enthusiasm for learning about future career opportunities.
Al Shehhi further explained that the ninth edition of the exhibition placed strong emphasis on all segments of society, especially senior citizens and people of determination, by highlighting digital solutions and smart services that offer ease of access and quick processing, in alignment with the Department’s strategic goals to simplify procedures and enhance customer happiness.
“Neighbourly Connections” Initiative
The exhibition also marked the introduction of the ” Neighbourly Connections” initiative, developed in partnership with the Department’s Youth Council. This initiative sought to foster values of compassion and social connection by providing gift bags for individuals to share with their neighbours.
Community Platform
The Community Platform encompassed activities designed for children, including colouring “Year of Community” stickers. Additionally, it showcased a card corner, where participants recorded their personal contributions to community service and subsequently displayed the cards on the platform.
It is worth noting that the exhibition featured daily raffles throughout its three-day duration, with a total of nine winners, averaging three winners per day.
