The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) announced its participation in the Arab-European Urban Dialogue Forum, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which will span three days. The forum aims to develop innovative models of urban development that redefine the role of municipalities in governance, integrating European experiences in economic diversification and climate resilience with Arab practices in adaptation and crisis management. This initiative seeks to foster greater opportunities for collaboration and mutual benefit.

In this regard, His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director-General of the MPDA and head of the participating delegation, emphasized that the department is keen to engage actively in this dynamic forum, which brings together Arab and European cities within a vibrant platform to discuss challenges, formulate solutions, and exchange knowledge and expertise. He expressed optimism that all stakeholders envision a luminous present and a prosperous future.

His Excellency also lauded Riyadh’s role in bringing together municipalities and institutions to deliberate on various issues, promote constructive dialogue, and strengthen cooperation across multiple domains, notably urban economy, digital transformation, and environmental sustainability, amid escalating global competition among cities to attract strategic investments, employment opportunities, major projects, and skilled human capital.

Furthermore, His Excellency articulated that sustainable development constitutes a fundamental approach to life in the ambitious Emirate of Ajman, which prioritizes the happiness and well-being of its community by providing exceptional, comprehensive, and integrated services to residents, visitors, tourists, and investors alike. He reiterated Ajman’s eagerness to participate in forums that enhance its stature and showcase its ongoing efforts towards advancement and improvement, aligning with the vision of Ajman 2030.

It is noteworthy that over 100 Arab and European cities have participated in the forum, alongside more than 200 senior leaders, with representatives from international organizations concerned with urban and economic affairs, including the United Nations, the World Bank, and international federations of municipalities and major cities.
