The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), participated in the City Leaders Forum session in the city of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was held on the sidelines of the Arab-European Cities Dialogue Forum hosted by the Kingdom from May 11th to May 13th 2025, with an official delegation headed by His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the MPDA.
His Excellency praised the forum, which aims to create a space for cooperation, enhance communication, and build relationships between representatives of Arab and European cities and municipalities, including mayors, municipal heads, secretaries, and governors, with the participation of influential entities in international development such as international urban organizations, municipal unions, and donor institutions.
His Excellency spoke about the Emirate of Ajman and its ambitious vision and clear strategy to move steadily towards a sustainable future, drawing inspiration from the directions of the United Arab Emirates, which are based on innovation, sustainability, and global leadership.
His Excellency highlighted the unique role of the Emirate and its strategic location on the Arabian Gulf coast, and the continuous development and improvement that have contributed to making it an outstanding model for balanced development that combines authenticity and modernity by preserving the existing foundation while developing upon it.
His Excellency explained that all institutions, departments, and entities in the Emirate of Ajman integrate their efforts to achieve Ajman Vision 2030 and UAE Vision 2071 and its directions for achieving sustainable development, appreciating the efforts of qualified national competencies in achieving sustainable urban development through the creation of vibrant urban centers and the development of a modern road network to build smart and sustainable cities.
His Excellency shed light on the integrated efforts and positive projects to achieve environmental sustainability, achieve climate neutrality, and the diligent work to reach net-zero by 2050, in addition to the efforts of Ajman Municipality in enhancing health and environmental control and ensuring quality of life.
His Excellency referred to the journey of leadership in smart services and digital transformation in the Emirate of Ajman, by providing flexible digital government services based on artificial intelligence in line with the UAE’s digital transformation strategy.
Mayors and city secretaries reviewed positive models, success and prosperity stories, facing challenges, and the flexibility of transformations to create a bright present and move towards a better future for all.
