The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) has announced the partial inauguration of the first phase of the Al-Hijin Street Development Project, which serves the school complex in the Tallah region. This comes as part of the the MPDA’s plans to develop infrastructure and enhance road quality, aligning with Ajman Vision 2030’s objectives to establish an integrated and sustainable transportation system.
Facilitating Access to the School Complex in Tallah
In this connection, Dr. Engineer Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, the MPDA’s Executive Director of Infrastructure Development, affirmed that the MPDA endeavors to ensure life quality and to provide exemplary services to the community. Accordingly, the MPDA prioritized implementing developmental works in the school zone during the summer vacation to facilitate student access to the targeted schools and to ensure their safety.
The work teams committed to inaugurating the project in its partial phase before the commencement of the new academic year, ensuring smooth traffic flow during the back-to-school season and reducing congestion, Bin Omair emphasized.
Three Lanes
For his part, Engineer Abdullah Mustafa Al Morzouqi, Director of the Roads and Infrastructure Department, elaborated on the details of the first phase of the Al-Hijin Street Development Project. The project spans approximately 2.5 kilometers, extending from the intersection with Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Street to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Street. It includes expanding the roadway to three lanes in each direction, developing three signalized intersections that serve the school complex, as well as implementing stormwater drainage network, lighting systems, and constructing service roads and parking facilities.
It is noteworthy that the work teams continue their efforts to enhance the street’s efficiency and capacity, ensuring easier, faster, and safer access to the designated destinations. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of the upcoming year.
