The Municipality & Planning Department – Ajman announced the completion of a project for the construction of a set of individual asphalt roads at Mowaihat 1, in a total cost of AED 5 million, aligning with the trends of Ajman Vision 2030 for the construction of an integrated and sustainable system of transport, by improving the quality and interconnection of infrastructure, contributing to enhancing the quality of life and increasing the standard of society’s happiness and welfare.
In this regard, Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al-Muhairi, the Executive Director of the Department’s Infrastructure Development Sector, emphasized: “The project takes place within the ongoing efforts for providing a safe and easily accessible road network. The project included the implementation of inner roads in a total length of around 4.5 km, and attained a percentage of completion of 100%.”
Dr. Bin Omair noted: “The project aims to facilitate access to lands and houses, and to also enhance urban and investment movement, and preserve the environment and public health, a thing which reflects positively on the satisfaction of the population and the quality of life in the area, and supports easier and safer access to desired destinations.”
From his side, Eng. Abdullah Mustafa Al-Marzooqi, the Director of the Department’s Road & Infrastructure Department, stated: “The project adopted the use of an environmentally-friendly substance that contributed to reducing the quantities of drilling and material transport, and that reduced the cost and duration of implementation, and that also helped enhance the quality of roads and increasing the useful time thereof, beside its role in reducing emissions and carbon footprint.”
Furthermore, Al-Marzooqi noted: “The project constitutes a qualitative transformation in the improvement of traffic safety, as roads were equipped with the necessary elements of safety in terms of guiding signboards and ground signs, enhancing the security of road users and ensuring smooth traffic movement within the area.
