Costing AED 45 Million: Ajman Municipality Commences Phase 1 of Al-Hijin St. Development Project

The Municipality & Planning Department – Ajman announced the commencement of Phase 1 of Al-Hijin Street development project at Al-Tallah area in Ajman, with a length of 2.5km, in the course of its ongoing efforts for the implementation of integrated developmental projects, in consistency with the trends of Ajman Vision 2030 for the construction of an integrated and sustainable transport system, and in line with the strategic objective of the improvement of the quality and interconnection of road infrastructure.

 

In this regard, Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al-Muhairi, the Executive Director of the Department’s Infrastructure Development Sector, confirmed: “The project is located in a vital area that is witnessing ongoing movement all around the clock, where a number of schools are located. The main objective of the project is to expand the street to consist of 3 lanes in every direction, a thing which will contribute to increasing the street’s capacity, and ensure easier, optimum and safer access to the required destinations.”

 

Dr. Eng. Bin Omair stated: “The project will consist of traffic light intersections, a utility street, a stormwater drainage network, lighting poles, and extra parking lots. The competent personnel and teams in charge will implement a comprehensive plan for the completion of the project on several phases, in what would ensure the facilitation of traffic movement within the street.”

 

Dr. Eng. Bin Omair added: “The Department is adopting clear, integrated and comprehensive plans for the development of infrastructure, covering all areas of the Emirate. Work is going on for the completion of the developmental projects that serve the interest of the society, and that yield positive impacts on tourism, investment and all aspects of life.

 

It is ought to mention that the Department has organized an orientation session for the concerned and affected parties, where Eng. Rashid Mohammed Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, road supervision engineer and project manager of Al-Hijin Street project, gave a detailed explanation on the phases of work in the project and the objectives thereof, while he emphasized that: “The session aims to engage the society and to become familiarized with their enlightening ideas and suggestions, as they are ones who know the most details and the ones who are the most capable of participating with the Department in the accomplishment of this developmental project.”
