Ajman Vision 2030 Achievement Partners Majlis

The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) organized the Ajman Vision 2030 Achievement Partners Majlis, which is an extension of the ones held by the MPDA with federal and local entities, to draw a common roadmap and establish a common work umbrella to achieve the best desired results, and ensure the alignment of strategic plans and initiatives with future government directions, especially regarding raising the emirate’s readiness in enhancing environmental sustainability.

 

Dr. Eng. Khalid Moeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, welcomed the attendees, emphasizing that the MPDA believes in the importance of integrated efforts and concentrated goals, and the role of each entity in achieving the matrix of roles and responsibilities for Ajman’s Vision, reflecting the spirit of partnership in the success of projects.

 

Partners contribute positively and effectively to the success of transformational projects that align with the directions of the Government of Ajman and the visions of the United Arab Emirates to achieve the desired improvement and development in all sectors of life, he added.

 

MPDA Strategy

For her part, Ms. Fatima Mohammad Al Mulla, Director of Strategy and Institutional Excellence Department, gave a presentation on the MPDA’s strategy, noting the MPDA’s keenness to meet with its partners to introduce the features of its strategy, which represents the ambitious compass for the next phase, and a fundamental pillar for achieving our common vision towards a more prepared, innovative, and sustainable future.

 

The strategy is the result of integrated work in which partners, leaders, and executive teams participated, based on a comprehensive analysis of challenges and opportunities, aligned with national directions, based on best international practices, and focuses on enhancing the added value of partnership, raising the level of developmental and operational impact, and achieving institutional excellence in services and initiatives in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership and the ambitions of society, Al Mulla added.

 

Transformational Project

 

The Majlis witnessed a review of one of the transformational projects launched by the MPDA, represented by the Ajman Carbon Neutrality Project, which aligns with the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy, and is one of the main projects to embody Ajman Vision 2030 to enhance environmental sustainability, ensure climate neutrality, and improve air quality.

 

Focus Group Session

The MPDA wrapped up the Majlis with a focus group session that brought together partners from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment – UAE, and the Government of Ajman’s departments represented by the Department of Economic Development, the Transport Authority, and Ajman Free Zone to discuss the dimensions of the transformational project, to prepare the project’s working paper with the participation of representatives of the attending entities and submit recommendations that will be raised to the senior leadership in line with enhancing the role of partners in effective development and achieving the best results.

 

Recommendations and Outcomes

Participants recommended adopting common work priorities to enhance readiness to achieve carbon neutrality in the Emirate of Ajman, and framing aspects of cooperation between relevant entities to complete the alignment of institutional policies and plans with national sustainability directions.
