The Municipality & Planning Department – Ajman organized “Ajman Vision 2030 Achievement Partners Majlis”, arising from its strategic trends for the enhancement of enterprise integration, the activation of government partnerships, and the performance of the roles assigned thereto according to the “Roles & Responsibilities Matrix”, in what supports the implementation of the transformative projects that are consistent with the Emirate’s aspirations.
Integrated Urban Plan
The Majlis, which takes place within a series of coordinative sessions, focused on the integrated urban plan project of Ajman Emirate, which is one of the primary transformative projects being led by the Department within the Vision’s targets, aiming to optimize the use of urban resources, plan cities in a manner that copes with population growth, enhance the quality of life, and establish a sustainable infrastructure that supports vital sectors in the Emirate.
In the beginning of the Majlis, Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al-Mahri, the Executive Director of the Department’s Infrastructure Development Sector, welcomed the partners representing the Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, the Ministry of Climate Change & Environment, the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, the General Headquarters of Ajman Police, the Free Zones Authority of Ajman, Ajman Sewerage Company, the Tourism Development Department, the Citizens Affairs Office, the Private Education Affairs Office, the Department of Port & Customs – Ajman, the Department of Land & Real Estate Regulation, the Security Services Support Authority, and the Transport Authority, while he emphasizing the Department’s pride to bolster the relationship with all the entities and parties that are concerned with sustainable improvement and development, the integration of efforts, and the collaboration of tasks for achieving the best.
Dr. Eng. Bin Omair stated that: “Their active presence will clarify common frameworks and provide a specialist vision that supports the implementation of the integration urban plan project and the attainment of its future objectives.”
Dr. Eng. Bin Omair stated: “The presence of the partners enables the appropriateness of local and national plans, and the delivery of a specialist vision that supports the implementation of the integrated urban plan project, with compliance with academic methodologies and measureable performance indicators that enhance the competency and efficiency of the urban planning system of the Emirate.”
The Department’s Strategy
The Majlis witnessed the presentation of Strategy 2030 by Mrs. Fatma Mohammed Al-Mulla, the Director of the Strategy & Enterprise Excellence Department, stating: “The Department has cared to meet with its partners to introduce the Department’s roadmap and the ambitious compass for the upcoming stage, which is a product of an integrative work of the partners, the leaders, and the executive plans for the attainment of the best results that serve the interest of the society.”
Roles & Responsibilities Matrix
The Majlis included the presentation of the “Roles & Responsibilities Matrix” in Ajman Vision 2030 by Mrs. Fatma Al-Suwaidi, the Director of the Strategy Office of the Executive Council, who confirmed: “All entities and organizations are operating under a pioneering state that believes in joint cooperation and coordination, and bolstering partnerships, and that embraces integration and mutual coordination as an essential pillar of continuity and sustainable success.”
Transformative Project Action Sheet
The Majlis gave the action sheet, which contained the main axes of the project, emphasizing the role of the partners in supporting the strategic trends of the Emirate, aiming to clarify the transformative framework of the project through four axes that include vision and strategic plans, to emphasize the project’s alignment with the Emirate’s trends and plans, and legislations and policies, and joint project priorities, as well as reports and studies to unify the sources of data and provide a reliable knowledge base for decision-making.
The sheet also emphasized the importance of the engagement of partners in the development of policies, the implementation of projects, and the provision of data, beside the requirement to associate the project with clear performance indicators that ensure tracing advancement towards the objectives of Ajman Vision 2030.
Majlis Recommendations
The Majlis closed with several recommendations, which will be forwarded to the higher leadership, which include, most importantly, the adoption of the integrated urban plan as a main reference of planning in the Emirate, the enhancement of integration with the national plan for congestion, the development of an inclusive strategy of transportation and transport, supporting economic and tourist activities along with environmental preservation, and the development of an integrated infrastructure that meets the needs of all categories of the society.
