Ajman Department of Municipality & Planning announced the launching of the “Building Compliance Package”, in a qualitative step that aims to enhance the sustainability of buildings, and to increase their readiness according to the highest health and safety standards, aligning with the trends of Ajman Vision 2030 for the creation of a civilizational environment that enhances the attractiveness and quality of life of the Emirate.
The Department confirmed that launching the package takes place in cooperation and coordination with the strategic partners, represented by the General Headquarters of Ajman Police and the General Directorate of Civil Defense, with a view to enhance integration in the implementation of safety stipulations, and to enhance the security of the society, in the course of the Department’s ongoing efforts and hard work for providing a sustainable and vibrant urban environment.
Proactive Procedures
In this regard, H.E. Abdul-Rahman Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, the Department’s Director-General, confirmed: “The building compliance package is an essential pillar in improving the efficiency of infrastructure, and increasing the readiness of buildings to face various risks, by the implementation of proactive procedures that contribute to the enhancement of the security and safety of the populace.” He appreciated the efforts of the active partnership, the contribution of entities, and the role of building owners in supporting compliance efforts, and the achievement of the best results.
His Excellency added: “The package targets building owners, real estate offices, property management offices or whoever is representing them, to ensure their facilities’ compliance with all applicable stipulations and standards.” He emphasized the importance of the integration of efforts between the relevant entities and the collaboration of tasks for the delivery of the best services to the society, and contributing to increasing the indices of happiness and quality of life, increasing the feeling of safety, the reduction of the number of fires per 100 thousand people, and ensuring the health and safety of the residents of buildings in the Emirate of Ajman.
Sustainability & Safety
The package includes a collection of primary requirements, most importantly, maintaining the sustainability of buildings and the aesthetic appearance of façades, the installation of early alarm devices, the maintenance of firefighting systems, and ensuring the availability of surveillance cameras and the operational competency thereof.
The Department urges all relevant entities to actively interact with the package, and to avail of the facilities and services accompanying the same, in what would contribute to improving the quality of the urban environment, and enhancing the attractiveness of ideal living in the Emirate of Ajman.
