The Department of Municipality and Planning – Ajman (MPDA) has announced the issuance of 3,080 new building permits during the first half of 2025, marking a record increase of over 300% compared to the same period in previous years. This unprecedented surge comes in alignment with Ajman Vision 2030, aiming to foster a modern urban environment that enhances the Emirate’s appeal and quality of life and supports the strategic objective of achieving comprehensive urban management.
Quantum Leap in Urban Development
In this context, H.E. Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the MPDA, affirmed that this remarkable surge in the number of issued permits reflects Ajman’s rising status as an ideal destination for living. He attributed this growth to the Emirate’s stable, investment-friendly environment, advanced infrastructure, and cutting-edge digital services — all of which contribute to the continued sustainability of the construction and building sector.
Seamless Integration and Smart Connectivity
H.E. Al Nuaimi pointed out that the MPDA is actively streamlining construction procedures and accelerating processes through smart systems and integrated digital connections with relevant entities. This approach has significantly reduced permit issuance times and enhanced the overall customer experience.
Relentless Commitment
For his part, Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, the MPDA’s Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector, praised the dedication of the ambitious and qualified talents within the Buildings Department, emphasizing that this achievement reflects the effectiveness of the MPDA’s operational plans and its ability to keep pace with Ajman’s rapid urban expansion. These record-breaking figures underscore developers’ confidence in the institutional work system and the competence of the workforce in this vital sector.
“The notable increase in new building permits in recent months is a clear indicator of Ajman’s growing urban momentum, as it reflects a rising demand for both residential and commercial units, in line with the aspirations of the Emirate’s residents. These positive indicators coincide with qualitative improvements in the efficiency of Emirate’s operations and the success of forward-looking planning policies, which have proven capable of adapting to dynamic changes. This progress supports a sustainable balance between urban growth and environmental resilience, highlighting the readiness of Ajman’s infrastructure to accommodate rapid urban expansion” Eng. Al Muhairi added.
