The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, in cooperation with the Ajman Society of Social and Cultural Development, the Emirates Autism Society, and the emirate of Ajman’s “Our Happy Summer”, organized a dialogue session at the National Council entitled “Dialogue and Partnership for a Meaningful Summer for our children”, in the presence of a large number of parents and those concerned with initiatives, activities and training programs, within the initiative of community councils launched by the Department and continued over the course of 8 sessions since last year, in line with the directions of Ajman Vision 2030 to build an inclusive, cohesive and empowered society.
The session aimed at consolidating joint cooperation between the competent authorities in the programs of preparing promising and qualified generations from various fields, discussing ways to open the horizons of implementing specialized programs, and integrating experiences and knowledge to invest the summer vacation for students through an integrated events plan.
Integration and Social Responsibility
H.E. Mona Saqr Al Matrooshi, Director General of Ajman Society of Social and Cultural Development, praised the session, which brings together entities to move towards the best in the field of raising pioneering generations, explaining that over the past years, everyone has presented a number of positive programs and initiatives in various fields, mainly artificial intelligence as the language of the current era, stressing the role of dialogue sessions in drawing outlines of joint plans to launch quality programs under the umbrella of the summer program of the Ajman Government.
Investing Creative Minds
For her part, Dr. Sheikha Noura Humaid Al Nuaimi, Innovation Advisor and Director of the Ajman X center of the Department, welcomed the attendees, indicating the Department’s keenness to consolidate constructive relations with public benefit organizations and continue to improve and develop in the interest of students and improve their skills and qualifications, empower talents, refine knowledge, motivate them and enhance their ability to keep pace with the current era and the professionalism of modern technologies and creativity in various fields.
Dr. Al Nuaimi said that in the previous sessions, the Department organized many diverse programs and events that addressed different segments, the most important of which are people of determination and people with autism. The Center also launched, since 2019, the little programmer initiative, which adopted the idea of transferring knowledge from child to child, addressing a number of programs, including the program of robotics science and programming with artificial intelligence, the small data analyzer, the robotic crane program, the three-dimensional printer, renewable energy, and others in the framework of ensuring the sustainability of knowledge transfer and building a creative and innovative generation in the digital future world pulsating with accelerated events and continuous changes.
Ajyal Program
The council reviewed the results of the Ajyal summer program, which was launched by the Department in 2010 to enable high school graduates to enter the labor market and provide them with the necessary skills. the program depends on the stages of distribution of associates to the departments of the Department, field trips, and practical training from the field supervisor. The Department achieved positive results and empowered many human competencies.
Detailed Presentation of “Our Happy Summer” Program
Mr. Salem Khalfan, director of the Boys Center at “Our Happy Summer” Program, gave a comprehensive presentation about the program, which was launched in 2020, despite the challenges, and has since achieved tangible qualitative results. The program was distinguished by bringing together the initiatives and projects of various entities and organizations in the emirate under a unified umbrella focused on training, entertainment, and education. The program aims to enhance community participation in sustainable development, enable various groups to build strong families, discover talents, develop capabilities, as well as support the family in investing available resources, and manage time effectively and positively.
Integration of Children With Autism
For her part, Eng. Amal Al Karbi, general coordinator of the Emirates Autism Society, stressed the importance of expanding the participation of children with autism in summer programs and integrating them with their peers, noting their intelligence, talents and exceptional abilities. She expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the Department in empowering this important category, and its support for creativity and active participation in society.
Dialogue and Exchange of Proposals
The session witnessed the opening of the discussion, which was characterized by a wide participation of the attendees, who reviewed their real-life experiences with their children from various segments, and presented a set of proposals that will be submitted to the senior leadership for adoption and turning them into concrete initiatives that will have a positive impact on students and affiliates of summer programs.
