AJMAN BUILDING MATERIALS LABORATORY RECORDS A 33% RISE, ISSUING 25,922 REPORTS IN Q1 2025

The Building Materials Laboratory at the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman issued 25,922 reports during the first quarter of 2025, according to the department’s official statistics. This represents a 33% increase compared to the same period in 2024, in line with Ajman Vision 2030 which aims to create a modern, vibrant environment that enhances the emirate’s attractiveness and quality of life. It also aligns with the strategic objective of developing vibrant urban centers that support thriving communities.

In this context, Eng. Abdullah Al Tamimi, Director of the Central Laboratories Department, affirmed that Ajman is witnessing a major urban boom in architecture, construction, and integrated infrastructure development. The Building Materials Laboratory operates 24/7 to receive various samples for testing key materials used in construction and engineering projects such as roads and buildings. It offers two primary services to customers: testing and verifying the compliance of building materials with specifications, and conducting on-site survey services.

Eng. Al Tamimi noted that the laboratory had issued 19,551 reports during the same period last year, reflecting steady and sustainable growth in comprehensive urban development. He praised the dedicated efforts of the laboratory team, who played a key role in simplifying procedures and accelerating the testing process—leading to the positive increase in output.

He further added that customers can submit testing requests through the “Ammar” system and then personally deliver their samples to the laboratory. He confirmed that work is ongoing to achieve full smart transformation through the launch of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), enabling customers to benefit from streamlined and ideal services.

It is worth noting that the laboratory includes a soil lab, steel lab, asphalt lab, aggregate lab, ready-mixed concrete products lab, and a chemistry lab. These units work together to test and ensure the quality of materials used in construction projects, confirming their compliance with required standards and conditions, and supporting integrated urban management and sustainable construction.
