His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), has reviewed the progress of phase 1 of Al-Hijin street development project at Al-Tallah area of the Emirate. The project aligns with Ajman Vision 2030’s gaols to establish an integrated and sustainable mobility system.
During the field visit, His Excellency was briefed on the details of the ongoing works on the street, which spans 2.5 kilometres with a total cost of AED 45 million. The project includes the construction of an integrated stormwater drainage network, lighting poles, utility lanes, alongside service roads, parking lots, and sidewalks. These enhancements aim to ensure smooth traffic flow, improve quality of life, and and bolster the area’s investment and commercial activity.
Three Lanes in Each Direction
His Excellency praised the dedicated and ambitious team at the MPDA for their continuous efforts to improve the quality and connectivity of road infrastructure by expanding the street to three lanes in each direction. This development is set to increase capacity and ease traffic flow, particularly in the vital Al-Tallah area, which hosts a cluster of schools.
Completion of the Road Leading to the School Complex
His Excellency directed the teams to accelerate the pace of work around the school complex, aiming to complete the development before the start of the new academic year, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for students and teachers.
Sustainable Development
For his part, Eng. Abdullah Mostafa Al Marzouqi, Director of the Roads and Infrastructure Department at MPDA, provided a detailed briefing to His Excellency on the project’s objectives and implementation phases. He confirmed that work is progressing according to the approved schedule, with full completion expected in the first quarter of 2026.
“The project is being carried out according to the highest international standards and designs, in line with the wise leadership’s vision for a fully integrated infrastructure that supports the Emirate’s ongoing development and sustainable growth”, Al Marzouqi emphasized.
