MPDA, MOHRE organize “Towards a Conscious Labor Culture” session

The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), in cooperation with the Ministry of Emiratisation and Human Resources (MOHRE), organized a dialogue session titled “Between Right and Duty… Towards a Conscious Labor Culture,” to enhance and empower human resources, in the attendance of representatives from entities, institutions, and departments operating in the Emirate, and the community of the Emirate in Al Raqaib Majlis, as part of the Community Majlisis initiative launched by the MPDA, which has continued for 7 sessions since last year.

 

Participating in the dialogue session, alongside the organizers, were Al Etihad Charity Foundation, Saada Senior Citizens Center – Ajman, the Representative Office of the Ministry of Health and Prevention, Ajman Specialty Hospital, International Charity Organization, Thumbay Hospital, Ajman Social and Cultural Development Association, Zayed Educational Complex – Ajman, and a number of the Emirate’s community members.

 

Mr. Mohammad Al Mahri, the MPDA’s Director of the Human Resources Department, welcomed the attendees, emphasizing that the MPDA decided to organize this session to shed light on the rights of an important segment of society, namely workers who work diligently, sincerely, and dedicatedly to complete their tasks perfectly. He affirmed the leadership’s keenness at the MPDA to provide all elements of happiness and well-being for this category, which is a pillar of development and a foundation for progress, as they deserve thanks, praise, and appreciation.

Safety and Security

Participants emphasized the importance of integrated roles among relevant entities and institutions to promote a safe and happy environment for workers, pointing to the efforts made in monitoring safety and security conditions in workers’ accommodations, and organizing training and awareness workshops on the use of safety equipment and proper handling of electrical appliances, with the aim of protecting lives and ensuring a sustainable living and healthy environment.

 

Innovative Ideas

The session reviewed the MPDA’s efforts and achievements in the field of workers’ happiness and providing a healthy and safe environment, reducing transportation burdens, and increasing social interaction among workers, as it emphasizes that workers do not only need housing but also need an environment that provides psychological support and comfort.

 

The session included a presentation on the Tasqeen system, which is an innovative initiative implemented by the MPDA to provide digital services in the housing environment, having won the British Ideas Award and other awards. The idea embodies organizing service delivery in a fair and easy manner, providing equal opportunities for all, including benefiting from various initiatives such as “Your Breakfast in Your Accommodation” and responding to maintenance requests.

 

As part of an approved plan for the Happiness Footprint team for workers’ welfare, the Department implements various activities and initiatives throughout the year, including: Umrah trips, National Day celebrations, talent days, and health initiatives. The Happiness Footprint team for workers also organizes many recreational activities, appreciating the efforts of partners and supporting entities in achieving the best for the working class, which contributed to achieving a satisfaction rate of 95%.

 

Dialogue and Exchange of Proposals

The session witnessed an open discussion, characterized by wide participation from attendees who presented a set of proposals that will be submitted to the senior leadership for approval and transformation into a reality that workers will feel its positive impact.
