Ajman X Centre, Emirates Intellectual Property Association orchestrate “Intellectual Property and the Creative Economy” Forum

Ajman X Centre, affiliated with the Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy and the Emirates Intellectual Property Association (EIPA), orchestrated a forum titled “Intellectual Property and the Creative Economy in the Era of Innovation and Advanced Technology.” This event coincided with World Intellectual Property Day, aiming to underscore the pivotal role of intellectual property in fostering innovation, safeguarding artists, advancing global economic and cultural prosperity, and championing the unique contributions of innovators who leverage their creativity to effect positive societal transformation.

 

The forum was inaugurated by His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammad Al Nuaimi, the MPDA’s Director General, in the presence of His Excellency Ali Al Amiri, the EIPA’s Secretary-General, Dr. Engineer Khalid Moeen Al Hosani, the MPDA’s Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, and Sheikha Dr. Noura Humaid Al Nuaimi, the MPDA’s Innovation Advisor and Director of Ajman X Centre.

 

The forum eyed broad participation of employees and relevant stakeholders invested in innovation and the protection of intellectual property rights, fostering a dialogue-rich environment aimed at elevating awareness regarding the significance of safeguarding creativity and cultivating a supportive legislative and economic infrastructure.

The forum hosted a distinguished assembly of speakers, renowned for their extensive expertise and pioneering leadership in this vital domain. These luminaries included Judge Dr. Hamda Al Suwaidi, Head of the Bankruptcy Procedures Department – Dubai Courts, Mr. Moataz Al Abdallat, Board Member – Brand Owners Council, Lawyer Mahbouba Baqar, EIPA’s Member, and Eng. Marwa Al Harmoudi, Industrial Property Examiner Engineer – Ministry of Economy. The insightful panel discussion was expertly moderated by media personality Mohammad Omran. The forum commenced with a presentation delivered by Mr. Jonathan B. O’Shea.

 

In her concluding remarks on the forum, Dr. Sheikha Noura Al Nuaimi emphasized that World Intellectual Property Day serves as a catalyst for creativity and innovation, championing intellectual property rights to forge an innovative world that benefits all, everywhere. Furthermore, it stimulates contemplation on how intellectual property rights and innovation regulations empower creators, inventors, and entrepreneurs to introduce novel concepts while safeguarding their endeavors.
