Ammar Al Nuaimi Inaugurates the AlEtihad Bridge in Ajman

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, inaugurated the AlEtihad Bridge after the implementation of its development project by the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman (MPDA). The work on the project began in July 2022.

His Highness was accompanied at the Inauguration by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman MPDA, His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of Ajman MPDA, Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the MPDA’s Infrastructure Development Sector, and Eng. Abdullah Mustafa Al Marzouqi, Director of the MPDA’s Roads and Infrastructure Department, and a number of expert engineers and the project work team.

His Highness expressed his pleasure in the completion of the development project before the scheduled completion date, as part of the MPDA’s endeavor to make it easy for residents and ensure that everyone reaches their destinations in record time and in complete safety.

His Highness explained that Al Ittihad Street is a lively street with activity around the clock, and therefore His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, decided to launch the bridge project as part of the second package of His Highness’s initiatives to develop infrastructure in the emirate, to ensure the wellbeing and happiness of community.

His Highness the Crown Prince of Ajman appreciated the efforts of the MPDA’s cadre, who continued the hours of hard work to complete the vital project, which costs AED 71,600,000, to provide the required expansion commensurate with the volume of daily use, and in line with the strategic goal of developing an integrated infrastructure and enhancing The interconnection between its elements and residential communities.

For her part, Eng. Latifa Naie Al-Ghafli, Roads Executive Engineer at MPDA’s Roads & Infrastructure Department, provided a detailed explanation about the project, its milestones, and its desired goals. She explained that it intended to construct a bridge on Al Ittihad Street consisting of three lanes for vehicles coming from the Emirate of Dubai towards Sheikh Khalifa Intersection, while providing a traffic light at the intersection of Al Ittihad Street and Kuwait Street under the bridges, in addition to completing a bridge for those coming from Al Hassan Bin Al Haitham Street and those heading outside the Emirate from Ajman Industrial Zone towards the Emirate of Sharjah, thus accommodating 16,000 vehicles per hour and reducing the time taken by the trip by 50%.

The project also serves the future development work of Al Ittihad Street. It provides entrances on both sides of the road to achieve traffic safety requirements, provides stormwater drainage system, and organizes infrastructure services”, Al-Ghafli added.
