Ajman Municipality & Planning Department has confirmed its full readiness for handling the situation of weather instability affecting the UAE from Tuesday till Wednesday, 17 April 2024, which will witness, according to the predictions of the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), rainfalls of various intensities, accompanied with lightning and thunders, sometimes with the chance of hailfall on some areas.
The Department stated: “Action and emergency teams and field teams have prepared a proactive plan for immediately handling the anticipated cases in the case of weather instabilities, as the instantaneous follow-up of the weather condition, from official sources, is currently taking place, in order to increase maximum readiness level.”
The Department stated: “It has distributed 65 pumps and formed 16 action teams that will be allocated throughout all the areas of the Emirate, as well as the presence of 28 pumping stations operating all around the clock to maintain the streamflow of roads and to ensure the population’s arrival to their required destinations in record time.”
The Department called upon the populace and visitors of the Emirate to contact the Department on hotline 80070 to report emergencies, with stating that: “Field action teams are ready to immediately handle the situation and instantaneously arrive to the reporting site, and they have adopted a smart system for handling the received cases, whilst receiving reports and complaints via 10 approved channels.”
In a related context, the Department directed all consultancy firms operating in the Emirate to act in accordance with the circular given thereby as in relation to poor weather conditions in the cases of emergency, for the protection of the safety of everybody.
