The Municipality & Planning Department – Ajman overviewed the progress of the applicable procedures of the Buildings Department, and the services of building permits and the issuance of completion certificates, and the qualitative initiatives launched by the Department recently. This took place during the reception of a delegation from Fujairah Municipality, presided by Eng. Mariam Ahmed Haroon Al Sheraifi, the Director of the Engineering Affairs & Planning Department, for the exchange of expertise and bolstering the aspects of joint cooperation.
Eng. Khalifa Abdullah Al Falasi, the Department’s Director of the Building Department, emphasized in the inception of the meeting with the visiting delegation: “All the departments and entities of the State are aiming to bolster joint coordination for the acceleration of urban development. The Department cares, based on direct instructions of H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Department’s Chairman, and the follow-up of H.E. Abdul Rahman Muhammed Al Nuaimi, the Department’s Director-General, for extending the bridges of communication and overviewing the best applicable experiences in the field of building.”
Eng. Al Falasi said: “The Building Department issues permits to buildings and controls quality in the building process by testing the materials used in building and verifying the building as per the approved as-built drawings, and overseeing the implementation of governmental buildings. Furthermore, the Department aims to meet the needs of the customers for the attainment of the strategic objective of competitiveness in building and construction, and cohesion between the elements of infrastructure and residential communities.”
The meeting included overviewing the building permit service and the progress of procedures in the same, and the customer’s journey and the method of service provision, as smart transformation and the use of Amar e-system have contributed to the completion of a transaction easily, accurately, and in record time.
The meeting included a presentation of the results of Bait Amer initiative, which has contributed to the acceleration of governmental services and the required approvals by the simplification of procedures and application via Amar system, and the attainment of interconnection with partners, to enable a customer to complete a procedure safely and efficiently.
The meeting shed light on the star rating system that was launched by the Buildings Department to empower the spirit of competitiveness amongst contractors and consultancy firms, and to improve competency and performance quality, and to enhance the concept of engineering excellence and verify the company’s readiness to practice the profession, and to give an opportunity to the local public to become familiarized with the companies.
From its side, the delegation of Fujairah Municipality appreciated the efforts of the Municipality Department, which is working hard for the promotion of the Emirate in various fields, and it applauded the Department’s cooperation with all departments for the generalization of the pioneering experiences and positive initiatives that strive for the quality of life and the happiness of the society, visitors and investors.
