The Municipality and Planning Department – Ajman (MPDA) has announced achieving 100% in the recycled liquid waste index during the first quarter of 2024, as part of the efforts made to conserve resources and reinforce the goals of the Year of Sustainability in the State, and in line with the national pillars of climate neutrality by 2051.

In this context, Engineer Khaled Moeen Al Hosani, the MPDA’s Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, asserted that efforts have intensified over the past years, and comprehensive and integrated plans have been developed to promote the concepts of recycling and adopt green circular economy methodologies. Conserving resources and reusing them correctly is one of our most important goals and a basic pillar of our relentless work for the sake of society and protects the environment, he added.

Eng. Al Hosani said that monitoring industrial and commercial facilities, imposing the installation of liquid waste primary treatment systems, and achieving cooperation with the Ajman Sewerage Company to activate tank reception points at the station contributed to raising the treatment rate and achieving the results desired.

The process of treating liquid waste is geared towards finding suitable resources for various uses, the most important of which is restricted agriculture, Eng. Al Hosani noted, praising the efforts of the competencies and the permanent monitoring teams that adopted the periodic sampling program, and strengthened cooperation with partners for the best.
