Department of Municipality and Etihad WE explore ways of Mutual Cooperation in keeping with Urban Development in Emirate of Ajman

Municipality & Planning Department in Ajman explored ways of mutual cooperation with Etihad Water & Electricity in light of the comprehensive urban development in emirate of Ajman.


His Excellency Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman received His Excellency Mohammad Saleh, Director General of Etihad WE, in the presence of Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector at the Department, Eng. Khalifa Abdullah Al Falasi, Director of the Buildings Department and a number of officials of both Parties.  


At the beginning of the meeting, the Director General of the Department stressed that, under the guidance of HH Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the Department relentlessly strives to provide the best services for population, visitors, investors and owners of the various projects in the Emirate and is keen to strengthen the ways of mutual coordination with all entities which complement the Department’s role and boot sustainable development in Ajman.


His Excellency said that the Department put in place a comprehensive and an integrated plan covering all the regions of the Emirate to develop the old regions in Ajman and upgrade the infrastructure of all types. The Department entrusts execution to qualified staff in order to ensure the demolition of old and fall-out buildings within the envisaged development plan.


For his part, Etihad WE Director General valued the Department’s efforts and continuous cooperation and endeavors to simplify procedures and provide the best services for all segments of society, stressing that Etihad WE is intensifying its efforts and establishing ambitious plans to meet the increasingly needs for power and desalinated water, not only in Ajman, but also in all the regions of northern Emirates which witness unprecedented urban and civilized development. He also valued the continuous efforts and fruitful cooperation between all players particularly in Emirate of Ajman, which makes it a famous emirate where happiness and welfare exists, expressing his happiness for Etihad WE being part of this productive collaboration.


For his part, Eng. Khalifa Al Falasi briefed the delegation about the development works of the Department which is currently executing the first phase of old regions re-planning and development plan targeting 50 plots of land in Liwara, stressing that the Department put in place a redevelopment plan for the three next years, including abandoned and crumbling buildings in Liwara 1 and 2, Rumaila 1 and 2 and Rashidiya 3.


Al Falasi explained that the Department seeks the assistance of Etihad WE and its constructive collaboration for the completion of redevelopment projects of old regions which aim to envisaged improvement. He expressed his pride of permanent bilateral relationships which help boosting development and moving ahead towards progress and advancement in all fields and sectors of life.
