Department of Municipality and Ajman Fishermen Association discuss the Development Mechanism of Ajman Fish Market

HE Ahmed Ibrahim Al Ghamlassy, Chairman of the Ajman Crown Prince's Office and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ajman Fishermen Association was received by His Excellency Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, to discuss the development mechanism of Ajman Fish Market and the regulation of economic activities associated with the fresh fish trading. The meeting was attended by Mr. Yusuf Al Shamsi, Director of Ajman Fish Market and Eng. Abdulla Al Tamimi. Director of Public Health Department.


His Excellency the Department’s Director General stressed at the beginning of the meeting which brought together both entities’ members that all entities collectively pursue the support of Emirati fishers to keep alive the fishing profession which carries out many historical, social and economic dimensions.


For his part, HE Ahmed Ibrahim Al Ghamlassy talked about the Association's plan and set goals aimed at using all capabilities and capacities to promote fishing profession and encourage compatriots to keep it alive in compliance with the directions of the leadership which actively tries to hold on ancient legacies and instill them in the next generations with a view to preserving the ancient identity.


The meeting included discussions about supporting the strategies of conservation of fishery resources, marine life and marine environment, ensuring their optimization and regulating fishing profession in line with the procedures of Ministry of Climate Change & Environment.  


During the meeting, the Fishermen Association outlined the main programs, activities and plans that would provide a decent life for all fishermen and discussed the initiatives launched to provide the permanent support and surmount the obstacles facing fishing profession.


The Parties agreed on the need to strengthen the mutual cooperation among all entities to ensure the achievement of Association’s set goals, develop work in fishing profession, coordinate partnership and consolidate beneficial efforts. They also appreciated the role of those working in fishing profession in the State and their role in strengthening food security and achieving sustainable fish stock.
