Ajman Municipality hosts “Accelerating Sustainability” Workshop For Industrial Facilities in the Emirate

The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman partnered with the United Nations Global Compact Foundation in the UAE to host a workshop titled “Accelerating Sustainability: Addressing sustainability challenges and Sustainable

Development Goals.” The workshop focused on industrial facilities in the emirate to support UAE’s sustainable future goals during the Year of Sustainability.

Eng. Khaled Moeen Al Hosani, the Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector, stated that the Department prioritizes regular meetings with industrial facilities to promote the right methods and approaches in line with sustainable development goals and current strategies. “Our collaborative efforts with various organizations aim to address sustainability challenges and turn them into opportunities for success in achieving our goals”, he said.

Al Hosani said the workshop aligns with the Department’s strategy to reach climate neutrality and improve air quality, emphasizing the need for collaboration between government and industrial entities to meet sustainable development goals.

The workshop saw the attendance of several notable speakers, such as Ms. Joelle Jamal, CEO of Al Mithaq International Group in the UAE, Ms. Farzana Hussein, Ms. Adele, as well as representatives from the Municipality and Planning Department and the Public Health and Environment Sector.
