Zayed Murals Documenting the Life of a Founder Who Has Drawn a Prosperous Future for His People

The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department completed the "Zayed Murals" project, to celebrate the Year of Zayed, which commemorates the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who have drawn a prosperous future for his people and led - with an exceptional wisdom and vision- the UAE, transforming it into a beacon of glory and prosperity.

Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector at the Municipality and Planning Department and Chairman of its Year of Zayed Committee, affirmed that the Department has been working on completing the project in one month, under the direct directives of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department, and supervision of His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department, so as to decorate the Emirate with murals of Sheikh Zayed, who - with his great humanity - presented a leading example to the people of the UAE and wrote, with letters of light, a story of a father who never spared an effort to make every UAE citizen and resident happy.

Al Muhairi stated that the Department delegated the task of supervising the project to a team of qualified employees, who communicated with professional artists to complete the murals with all professionalism, befitting the stature of the late Sheikh Zayed. In this respect, the team chose three important locations, including the Sheikh Khalifa Bridge intersection, which constitutes the meeting point of major and central streets in Ajman.

He explained that the first mural includes the logo of the Year of Zayed in green, which represents the reforestation initiatives of Sheikh Zayed, serving as a reminder of the constant and diligent efforts exerted to increase the number of green areas in the UAE. The artist, Majid Ahmed Al Saudi, completed the entire mural in a record time.

Whereas, the second mural, drawn by artist Rami Al Zaghwi, who drew the largest logo of the Year of Zayed in graffiti style, constituted the largest of the murals and contained several abstract elements about the future, envisioned by the late Sheikh Zayed.

Al Muhairi also tackled the third mural, created by artist Majid Ahmed, which embodies a portrait of the late Sheikh Zayed, featuring a great sentence, "The true resource is the resource of men.”

In this respect, Al Muhairi pointed out that the team, closely and regularly, monitored the completion of the three murals in just one month, while noting that work will continue to install necessary lighting and new aesthetic elements to these murals over the upcoming period.
