The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, in the Presence of its Female Employees, Celebrates the Emirati Women’s Day in a Special Festive Atmosphere

This morning, the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman celebrated the Emirati Women’s Day under the theme “Women on the Course of Zayed”, through the organization of a festive, social recreational program, designed to cheer the Department’s female employees on that occasion, in a special national festive atmosphere, in which cultural competitions and recreational activities were especially organized for those attending the ceremony.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, in the presence of His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General, and included many cultural competitions and activities in which all female employees took part, and to which various gifts were granted at the end of the celebrations.

On this occasion, His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, affirmed that this celebration reflects the Department's belief in creative and distinctive women employees, translating the UAE leadership vision and keenness to support women achieving their role in contributing to the national development process. In this respect, Al Nuaimi pointed out that the Municipality and Planning Department seeks to support the talented, UAE female employees on that occasion and others, reflecting the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, to mark the celebration of Emirati women every year on August the 28th, on the anniversary of the establishment of the General Women's Union in 1975, which coincided with the foundation of the Union of the United Arab Emirates since its inception, where UAE women had a clear national footprint marked over the years. Al Nuaimi affirmed that many of these women have obtained high academic diplomas, ranging from Master’s to PhD degrees, thus becoming successful businesswomen and distinguished leaders and entrepreneurs, renowned for their outstanding performance and services provided at the Department throughout their entire employment journey.

In this context, Al Nuaimi stated that this ceremony comes in recognition of the role of Emirati women employees played in the Department, as well as their constant keenness to ensuring their country’s advancement through their serious efforts exerted towards achieving national progress and development, while pointing out that UAE women constitute an active and true partner in community development, leaving their fingerprints in all fields through the great role they play in ensuring the UAE’s civilizational progress, as well as effective contribution to the political, cultural, social and economic development process witnessed since the inception of the Union under the UAE wise leadership directives. In this respect, this year’s slogan, “Women on the Course of Zayed”, constitutes a continuation of a national process, initiated by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan - may God rest his soul in peace -, and carried on by the nation’s leaders, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, where the founding father was the first to call for women's empowerment and participation in all areas of work. In this respect, Al Nuaimi stressed that the celebration of Emirati women, operating in all fields and especially in armed forces and civil aviation ranks, constitutes a recognition and an appreciation of their heroic role, sacrifices, noble generosity and courage in this military field, as well as for their leading role in raising and preparing generations to become the leaders of the future.
