8 November 2018

The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman announced that it has started imposing prepaid fees for parking spaces in Liwara 1,  Mohammed Salem Bu Khamis Street. Inspectors will be working in two shifts to enforce the decision, with the morning shift stretching  from 8 am to 1 pm and the evening shift from 5 pm till 9 pm.

The Department explained that the decision would come into force starting Sunday, 11 November 2018 and seeks to maintain traffic flow in the area. The continuous traffic in the streets of this area means that legal parking spaces need to be provided, especially as drivers have been using parking spaces arbitrarily and for prolonged periods.

The Department further stated that work is ongoing to regulate the use of parking spaces in the Emirate of Ajman to benefit the public. Its efforts seek to provide an effective system to manage parking spaces in the Emirate to alleviate pressure on spaces and guarantee the availability of additional legal spaces for everyone.

It should be noted that the Department offers drivers several choices for parking, including payment using the available machines, payment through the user friendly smart application MAWQIFI, and payment by SMS.
