In the first ceremony of its kind in the Middle East, the Municipality Department decorates 10 consultancy offices with 5 and 4 stars in recognition of their efforts

In a ceremony held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al-Nuaimi, HE Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, Director General of the Department, Directors General of the Emirate, CEOs, consultancy offices and media outlets at Ajman Center  X  of the Department, two consultancy offices in the Emirate of Ajman have been awarded 5 stars and eight offices were awarded four stars, in accordance with the requirements set by Ajman Municipality and Planning Department for rating consultancy offices operating in the Emirate of Ajman.


HH Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid stressed that there are concerted efforts under the umbrella of Ajman Government to promote the Emirate and enhance its position in all fields. Ajman has become a role model in high-quality reconstruction, development and construction and was able to assume an important position in the world, thanks to its comprehensive development and integrated renaissance, which helped it keep pace with or even excel other countries in many occasions.


His Highness added that the Department recognizes the role of consultancy offices as a strategic partner to invest in the Emirate in view of their contribution towards the desired achievements. It is our duty to honor remarkable people to serve as role models for all. Our aim is to promote the spirit of competition to ensure a better future for the next generations.


His Highness congratulated the remarkable offices that deserved the stars of honor. Addressing the other offices, he said that there is an opportunity to start again, adhere to the requirements and strive towards achievement. The Emirate deserves utmost diligence and hard work


Clear criteria and requirements

Eng. Khalifa Abdullah Al Falasi, Director of Buildings Management in the Department, said that the work team and qualified competencies of the Department worked for 3 consecutive months to evaluate the offices, in accordance with the requirements and standards of office supplies, projects, technical staff, certificates of accreditation and compliance with the regulations set by the Department, in addition to electronic supplies and strategic plans. He indicated that everyone in the community is entitled to be aware of the ranking of the offices and to choose the most efficient office.


Al-Falasi said that offices will be assessed on an annual basis and any consulting office is entitled to apply for a reassessment within six months to ensure fairness and urge the offices to endeavor to achieve the best assessment. Assessment is not aimed at punishment, but rather at stimulating and encouraging outstanding work.


Al-Falasi said that the star rating system of the competent committees was adopted to evaluate the departments in order to enhance the efficiency of the performance of consultancy offices and encourage them towards engineering excellence. Rating is an innovative way for distinguishing licensed offices in the same category.


The drive forward

In turn, the consulting offices have commended the efforts of the Department for acknowledgment of outstanding entities. The Department has embraced transparency in the assessment, held intensive courses for the offices, and organized field visits to familiarize them with the methods to be adopted. The consulting offices added that credit was given where credit is due. The award is an incentive to move forward, reflect on improvement, and adopt a practical approach that develops and promotes work on an ongoing basis.


Design Engineering Consultancy  AJ  and the Canadian Office were awarded five stars, while Pro Arc, Mazaya, Safraini, Abel, Al-Qari, Al-Hilal, Nakheel and Al-Sahel were awarded a four-star rating.
