During the Second Meeting of the Municipality Department’s Second Supervisory Board

The supervisory Board in Ajman Municipality and Planning Department holds its second meeting headed by His Highness Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Board, and His Excellency Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman of the Board, and the independent members Mr. Abd Al-Aziz Al Jasmi, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Hamadi and Ms. Mariam Al Shurafaa, in addition to the executive members, including Ms. Fatima Al Mulla, Director of Strategic Planning and Corporate Excellence, and Mr. Ibrahim Al Riyami, Secretary of the Board.


His Highness commenced the meeting by stating the determined target values of the strategic goals measured using the Delphi tool, in pursuit of achieving the vision and strategy of the Emirate of Ajman. The key goals of this strategy include developing an integrated infrastructure, enhancing the quality of water and air and fulfilling a balanced urban development. This entails developing goal-linked operations, services and initiatives and demonstrating the role of goals in achieving the strategy, apart from the regular follow up of performance and achieving priority in distributing resources.



His Highness confirmed that everyone seeks to launch quality initiatives that have positive effects on every employee and individual in the community, including happiness and ultimate welfare. He thus encouraged launching gender equality initiatives and organize events that target the female employees in the Department.



He also stated that the Department follows practical methods in order to achieve the best results. Such methods include brainstorming sessions, during which a number of ideas about initiates and goals are suggested and result in linking specialists to target groups.



Results of Sectoral Indicators

The meeting also discussed the results of sectoral indicators, including the results of air quality indicator that achieved, according to Eng. Khaled Mueen Al Hosani, about 92% above the target percentage. He pointed out that quality initiatives executed by the Department have contributed in reaching the desired goals; for example, the monitoring stations network covers the entire inhabited areas of the emirate, not to mention the serious efforts exerted to execute the emission inventory project implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the activation of a project aimed at installing monitoring stations and equipment in industrial facilities, in addition to implementing the air quality strategy, investing in the sustainability and smart monitoring project, increasing the monitoring level of free zones and stopping the use of electric generators.



On the other hand, Dr. Eng. Mohammad Ahmad bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Manager of the Infrastructure Development Sector, discussed the results of covering more areas with road networks and intersections, saying that more efforts are being exerted to launch effective initiatives that will create facilitated strategies that shall positively affect every member of community.


Survey Results

The meeting also discussed the results of the last year (2018) surveys of the main groups that benefit from the Department services, including beneficiaries, partners, the community and park visitors. The survey results indicated a partner satisfaction percentage of 90%.
