Ajman Municipality and Planning Department meets with delegation from Abu Dhabi Housing Authority to exchange expertise and work on joint coordination

The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman meets with a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority headed by His Excellency  Khalifa Khadem Al Hemeiri, Executive Director of the Policy Development and Strategic Planning Sector to exchange expertise and work on joint coordination between the two sides. This meeting is in line with the department's keenness to boost mutual cooperation with all government departments in the UAE.


The delegation was received by Dr. Eng. Mohammed Ahmed bin Omair Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the Infrastructure Development Sector at the department, as well as, Mr. Majid Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Director of the Office of His Highness the Chairman of the Department, alongside a number of other officials in the department.


  At the beginning of the meeting, Al Muhairi asserted that the Municipality and Planning Department is keen on benefiting from the unique experiences and initiatives launched by other governmental institutions, as guided by His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman the Department, as well as, His Excellency Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department. Such initiatives include the Digital Platform Initiative launched by the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, which offers a single platform that allows citizens to apply for housing under one umbrella.


Al Muhairi said that the department will spare no effort to achieve optimal cooperation with the authority in order to improve the quality of the services provided to the clients. He indicated that the department is committed in its support for the digital platform, which is a digital system that unifies housing and other related data across all local and federal housing programs and other agencies involved in the process of obtaining housing.


Al Muhairi also added that the Municipality and Planning Department’s main goal is to ensure the convenience and welfare of each client by launching initiatives that facilitate all their transactions. This includes services such as the residential land grant service, which enables citizens to apply for a land through an easy website. This website allows citizens to complete their application within a few minute without the hassle of visiting  several departments to complete the required service.


For his part, Eng. Khalifa Khadem Al Hemeiri, Executive Director of the Policy Development and Strategic Planning Sector at the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, praised the department’s commitment towards joint cooperation, outlining the digital platform initiative which aims at examining the current housing situation and developing a strategic vision to meet the current and future housing needs, and enhance the housing services provided to the citizens.


 Al Hemeiri also said that the authority is working on benefiting from artificial intelligence techniques and robots in accelerating infrastructure operations, as well as taking advantage of communication technology to reduce the demand on offices and administrative buildings. The authority also plans on using blockchain technology in the management of construction projects. He noted that the authority’s initiative includes various aspects such as the classification of contractors’ offices so that citizens could have the opportunity to identify office classifications and make the optimal choice.
