Ajman Culture CenterX and One Million Arab Coders Initiative Sign MoU; Launch Rashid bin Humaid Award for Coders to Provide Opportunities for Creative Professionals Focused on the Language of the Future

The Ajman Culture Xhosted a ceremony to celebrate the launch of the Rashid bin Humaid Award for Coders. The event was held in cooperation with the Dubai Future Foundation following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Ajman Culture Centerxand the One Million Arab Coders Initiative. In the presence of HE Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, and Sheikha Noura Al Nuaimi, Director of the Ajman Culture CenterX, HH Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, has inaugurated the launch ceremony during which he said that all local and federal departments and entities are moving forward in the journey to improve the nation’s economy. Al Nuaimi also said that these institutions have fulfilled the aspirations of the UAE leaders toward a better future, stressing that they have also succeeded in meeting our leaders’ plans and wise initiatives aimed at promoting comprehensive development in all walks of life. Al Nuaimi said: “For this purpose, we are exerting more efforts in this regard and we have provided all enablers needed to achieve our desired goals. These namely include supporting the language of the era; which is coding. Coding has become a successful tool to having the perfect life we all aspire to have alongside a better future that all nations seek to enjoy.” Al Nuaimi made his remarks during the ceremony held to announce the launch of the Rashid bin Humaid Award for Coders, which is aimed at opening the doors of unlimited opportunities for the creative professionals focused on the language of the future.”

 

The Rashid bin Humaid Award for Coders aims to achieve cultural and technological development, in addition to nurturing a generation capable of building future technological projects for the purpose of fulfilling the Emirate’s visions and aspirations. It is worth noting that the Award has five main categories broken down to: Employees, Society, Educational Institution, Government Entities, and Advanced Degree Graduate. Furthermore, Sheika Noura Al Nuaimi said that the Ajman Culture Center x will host innovation labs and provided the support and facilitations needed for the Award nominees. She added that it is believed that a wide range of traditional professions in the labor market will go extinct in the near future, and therefore, the Arab World is expected to need around 80 million professions by 2020. For his part, HE Khalfan Belhoul said that he aspires to see the Award’s goals realized, stressing the significance of promoting partnerships in hope that the coding illiteracy is eliminated so that the language of coding is viewed as the language of the modern era. He added that he foresee a new digital Arab world in good hands.

 

The MoU was signed in the presence of HH Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid as Sheikha Noura Humaid Al Nuaimi signed the MoU on behalf of the Ajman Culture Centerx, while HE Khalfan Belhoul represented the Dubai Future Foundation. It is worth noting that a number of officials from both institutions attended the signing ceremony; as the MoU is aimed at setting the general framework of all aspects of this partnership in order to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and institutional experience between the two sides at all levels.
