AED 1000 fine for barbecue and smoking shisha in public parks, green areas and beaches in Ajman

The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman announced banning barbecue and smoking shisha in public parks, green areas and beaches to maintain the health and safety of the residents, out of the Department’s commitment to provide a health and clean environment for the residents and visitors of the emirate and in application of the vision of the vision of the Ajman government, which seek to create a clean and safe environment for everyone.

Eng. Khalid Moein Al Hosni, Executive Director of the Public Health and Environment Sector of the Department, stressed that the ban comes under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department, and a follow up by His Excellency Abdulrahman Mohamed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Department for their keenness on providing an ideal and healthy environment for families and allowing them to enjoy the clean nature away from barbecue waste and the smell of shisha smoke, which disturb the clean surrounding environment.

Al Hosni Added that the health, safety and satisfaction of individuals is the aim that we aspire to achieve as the parks, green areas and beaches are the most vital places visited by residents, who seek comfort and recreation as they need ideal and healthy environment to enjoy it.

Al Hosni said that the Department will intensify its awareness and control campaigns on national holidays, which witness a high turnout for open areas by the residents, urging the people of the emirate to respond positively to the decision and to commit to the responsibility as well as helping the Department by reporting violation to punish the violators as an example to others.
