Two New Bridges towards the Seaport and Al Maktoum Street And a Tunnel under Al Hemedia Bridge
Engineer/ Mohamed Bin Omair, General Manager Assistant for Technical Affairs in the Department, disclosed that the Municipality would execute a range of projects of new roads and bridges to match with the rise of construction the Emirate is witnessing, and to facilitate the flow of traffic in the event of the increase of the Emirate's population .
He clarified that the most prominent projects of the new roads would be executed in Al Jorf Area at 35 million AED, pointing that the start of executing the roads projects would be in the early future. Bin Omair stated that the Department will execute two bridges. The first is Al Khor Bridge, instead of the current intersection that leads to the Emirate's Seaport.
The second bridge would be constructed on the intersection located at the end of Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Road, and leads to Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road. A tunnel will be made under Al Hemedia Bridge which will lead to Al Cornish Road. Bin Omair noted that the projects of the two bridges will be executed after completion of work in the present bridges on the extension of Sheikh Khalifah Road.
